? Matthews? DuVernay, like you said is definitely open. They ran this concept a few times last year and the motion player usually gets open.
This is a concept im surprised they don’t call more often....
There a bunch of concepts that Roman sprinkles in that could/should play a bigger role in my eyes

Sure, aside from the unblocked guy 8 yards downfield.

I have 2 coaching points from that play-

1- Andrews needs to give some cushion away from the sideline ~1-2 yards

2- Lamar needs to lead Andrews into the endzone away from the defender

#2 I also think he's wary of putting too much hang on the pass because of the safety over the top. Yes I do think you are correct but I can understand why he shorted it a little bit as well.

FWIW I also think this is just good defense. Could call it PI too but I've generally been a fan thus far of the zebras defaulting to keeping their laundry in the pocket.

There are different vantage points to view a play. I’m going to always lean towarda a stark critical assessment of QB play. “What could Lamar have done to make the play successful?”

But, I see what you’re saying.

QB Coach Ed :) No doubt, thanks as always providing the insightful gifs.

sorry if this got posted elsewhere on the board, but i came across a nice 5-part article on blitzing from August of this year. part 2 features last year's ravens. starts with some basics in part 1 then digs deeper into what a couple different teams are doing in the next parts. steelers are blitzing even more than the ravens did last year, which was already historically high %, so it'll be useful to dig deeper if you want to gain a better understanding of what the Ravens and Steelers (and others) are doing. here's the links:

Getting Home, Part 1: You can't win in the NFL if you don't pressure the QB
Getting Home, Part 2: Understanding pass protection — and how the Ravens manipulate it
Getting Home, Part 3: Bill Belichick's diabolical zero blitz that had Sam Darnold seeing ghosts
Getting Home, Part 4: Creepers allowed the Titans to simulate pressure ... and ruin the Browns
Getting Home, Part 5: Clemson's Brent Venables is showing NFL defenses how to evolve
