Everyone knows it takes more than 3 years to transform the 9-7 team you inherited into a winner.
The gang who let Caldwell go so they could bring in this clown, should fire themselves.

I wouldn't want to *fire* him.

But I would want Bevel on the staff working Lamar.

    However/whatever that looks like.

I want someone on the field that Lamar can talk to and I would prefer that person to have experience working directly with QBs and calling plays.

Lamar doesn't have anyone like that on the staff.

Roman is great but passing game isn't his strong suit and right now he's in the booth not on the field.
Not sure if Culley has called plays but his forte is WRs.
Urban has worked with QB but never been a coordinator nor a playcaller.

Bevell, Dirk Koetter, Linehan, Kellen Moore and Brad Childress (on staff but not a position coach) are on my short list
"Those corners...and those safeties are going to be one-on-one... and we got to make them pay for it," Harbs

"I think he’d be[Lamar] the greatest player in the history of the game,” Young said

HC O'Brian and GM O'Brian both sucked.

    Romeo Crennell interim?

Aaron Wilson, now writing for Houston Chronicle, suggested Roman is a potential candidate for Texans job.

The Fords don't tend to fire anyone mid-season and they are extremely tolerant of losing. Winning scares them, that's why Caldwell had to go.

I still don't understand why the got rid of Caldwell. Patricia has absolutely destroyed that team. The Lions were a winning team under Caldwell that were in the playoff mix every year. Now they are a dumpster fire.

It's not the Fords, Bob Quinn was hired as GM and he wanted his own coach. He kept Caldwell for a year then fired him. He's probably reluctant to fire MP because it's his hand picked guy

PFT had a story about people being upset the Texans aren't following the Rooney Rule before appointing Easterby as GM. Guess they forgot about Crennell getting the HC job.

This. It's not difficult to grasp. Quinn came from the Patriots. He knew Matt Patricia and he wanted some of that Bill Belichick magic.
