Re: Coachwatch 2020
That one is weird, he needs to cut his teeth position coaching/coordinating for a while like Vrabel did. The fact that he was even granted a HC interview shows you how backwards the Texans organization is. I would've laughed and said "Yeah good one, how about we'll consider you for QB 's coach after we hire a HC with actual, umm, coaching experience"

Re: Coachwatch 2020
A lot of guys find it hard to stay away, retirement not what they thought it would be. I dunno man, I think you're trying too hard to read something in.
For one, he retired AGAIN from the Titans (we know Vrabel wasn't displeased with his work), so clearly retirement was on the radar for him. And for two, multiple beat reporters -- not Ravens PR guys, but reporters for other outlets -- said they'd heard Pees making retirement noises for one or two training camps, and saying that this one (2017?) was his last ride "for real".
Mind you, I'd have been fine with Harbs not renewing his contract or whatever, and politely calling it a "retirement". I was over his defenses. But we got a lot of stuff to explain away, to make that story fit.

Re: Coachwatch 2020
I don’t think it’s that appalling. He’s been in the NFL for almost 20 years as a player and in his later years teams kept him on their roster because he’s a great locker room guy and fulfills that “player coach” type of role.
I don’t think the Texans would seriously consider him for a HC gig, but maybe they’re feeling him out for something else? QB coach? Offensive assistant? Passing game coordinator?

With one of six hires so far going to a minority candidate, Leslie Frazier, Eric Bieniemy and Jim Caldwell are the front-runners to fill the league’s final vacancy.
