maybe that was the Earl Campbell play.
I didn’t move here until after they no longer were the Oilers. Hell, I moved here and someone referred to the Ravens and I was all “ I thought their team was the Colts”

Chester Taylor...always liked him as the #2 back behind Jamal. Then he went to Minnesota and served as the Vikings second back behind Adrian Peterson

Taylor killed it at Toledo. 4646 yards rushing, 5200 yards from scrimmage and 60 TD. Averaged 5.8 yards per carry.

Taylor was the 18th RB chosen in the 2002 draft. He has more career rushing yards (4740) and yards from scrimmage (7064) than 15 of the 17 taken before him. Only Clinton Portis and Brian Westbrook had more.

If I were to make an All-MAC team of NFL players he might be on it. The best NFL player from Toledo is probably Curtis Johnson of the Miami Dolphins' No-Name Defense. Kareem Hunt is also from Toledo but his career is up in the air right now. Of course I'd also have to peruse the other MAC schools.

Pro Football Reference is a godsend for all this. Unfortunately we all know the QB of the All-MAC team would be Ben The Neanderthal.

    Re: Players you Particularly Remember

MAC schools by number of NFL players drafted

    86 Toledo
    81 Miami (OH)
    72 Northern Illinois
    65 Western Michigan
    58 Bowling Green
    55 Kent St
    49 Central Michigan
    48 Ohio
    45 Eastern Michigan
    42 Ball St
    39 Akron
    33 Buffalo

Leading NFL rushers from the MAC

    7338 Michael Turner (Northern Illinois)
    4740 Chester Taylor (Toledo)
    4363 Rob Carpenter (Miami)
    3862 Timmy Brown (Ball St)
    3520 Sherman Smith (Miami)
    2856 Mel Triplett (Toledo)
    2506 James Starks (Buffalo)
    2496 Don Nottingham (Kent St)
    2446 Bill Triplett (Miami)
    2330 Kareem Hunt (Toledo)
    2179 Bernie Parmalee (Ball St)
    1793 Dave Preston (Bowling Green)
    1336 Thomas Rawls (Central Michigan)

So yeah, I believe Chester Taylor makes the RB room. The #1 RB would obviously be Michael "The Burner" Turner.

Don Nottingham incidentally was a FB for the Colts in the early 70s.

The whole thing is worth watching, but especially Hilliard getting crushed: https://youtu.be/Y9e_IXzRwuE?t=153

I also remember another sack against the Bengals resulting in a fumble that was returned for a TD, but I can't find it. Perhaps it was not against the Bengals.
    Sharper and Burnett were playmakers

I was going to say the same. He was incredibly exciting to watch in our 08 season.

Ovie Mugheli. He excelled at the FB position here and left for Atlanta for a big pay day.
