Re: What happened to the politics forum?
I found it useful to identify and block posters whose opinions on any subject held no credibility or interest for me at all. Has raised the intelligence and quality of the Ravens stuff I do read much higher.

Re: What happened to the politics forum?
I find it interesting that the Political forum was taken down the same day that the Big Tech companies, Google, Facebook etc. were being called out by Congress for censoring conservative views.

Re: What happened to the politics forum?
Which has been the case for years. Hence, why some didn't want the Covid-19 thread moved there. We may not like the current situation and wish it would go away, but it was refreshing to have intelligible discussion with random articles from 'Whothebleepknows.com' being kept at a minimum. Along with the talk of 'Scientists', as if they are all of one discipline, or this extreme focus on the media making this out to be more than what it is (As if we haven't been humbled enough as it is with that sort of thing). The political forum is policed very differently. Down there in the political forum, that sort of thing runs rampant and the thread would have simply deteriorated into a bunch of political bashing and much of what you mentioned. Thread titles like the one you mentioned (Also one I mentioned a couple of days back) are certainly not uncommon down there.
It's pretty clear at this point, that Covid-19 is going to keep the NFL season from progressing. There won't be much else to talk about. MLB is already having issues. It won't take the NFL long to do the same. So, while we understand the traditional protocol, this is a unique circumstance. If it stays down there, so be it. I said my piece a few days back. It is what it is. As for the political forum itself, I don't miss it."Please take with you this final sword, The Excellector. I am praying that your journey will be guided by the light", Leon Shore

Re: What happened to the politics forum?
I'm the one who started the thread y'all keep referencing. Rest assured I would never type anything on this forum I wouldn't say directly to someone. However, I do have two different personal rules when it comes to posting. On the football forum I try, with varying degrees of success, to be polite even if we disagree. The politics forum is/was more of a bare knuckle-brawler forum. It was a release valve and most people tried to keep the forums separate. Democrat or Republican, on the football forum we're all Ravens fans. Most likely all of the posters who frequented down there share similar views on forum separation.
As to moving stuff, it would get political. Take this thread as an example. BCH called right-wingers vile racists while complaining about the title of a thread I started. Difference is I put my political views down in the politics forum where anybody could argue with them. BCH does the passive-aggressive thing up here where we maintain a veneer of civility."A moron, a rapist, and a Pittsburgh Steeler walk into a bar. He sits down and says, “Hi I’m Ben may I have a drink please?”

Re: What happened to the politics forum?
What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Re: What happened to the politics forum?
Bravo to the admins for putting certain threads in the trash heap and locking that cesspool for the time being. I would say the politics stuff if unlocked in the future should be placed in its own sub-forum and other topics there like wrestling, movies, food etc could be moved to off-topic non-political sub-forums.

Re: What happened to the politics forum?
So have we checked with a Mod to see if this is temporary or permanent? Some threads like Wrestling, Music , Movies and the Food/Cooking thread shouldn’t have to die because of Politics. Those were/are great threads. Great exchange of ideas and opinions also.
Hopefully it’s a short term thing to let the board cool down a bit.
