RINO’s are more like people who pretend to be republican. “Republican In Name Only”. Aka Democrat, not moderate.

John F Kennedy would be consider radical right by the standards of today's democrats.

Trump would be considered a radical leftist by the standards of Kennedy's day.

But of course you would think that. Why don't you humor everyone and name some Republican examples.......?

I live in Maryland, which is a very blue state, but has a very popular moderate Republican Governor in Larry Hogan, that I voted for BTW. Massachusetts has a similar moderate Republican Governor in Charlie Baker. I believe both of these men have around a 70% approval rating in their states. However, I have heard both of them pilloried as being RINOs by the right wing of the Republican Party. I would say that both of them would be considered to be Democrats in quite a few red states in this country.

Dirt, isn't it good to have two "moderate" Governors, whether Rep or Dem, in office?

I'd like to think so... Bc

Absolutely. Personally, I think we need way more moderate Republicans and moderate Democrats in office in this country. I don’t like the far left Bernie Sanders/AOC wing of the Democratic Party, and am happy that they only represent the views of about one-third of Democratic voters. I equally dislike the politicians on the far right of the Republican Party.

Don't disagree with anything you've said.

But I'm trying to get you to see that things like "moderate" are subjective terms.

In Kennedy's day, Hogan would have been considered a socialist.

And about 2/3 of the party policy making.

Any moderate Republican is considered right-wing by liberals. If you don’t believe in every single thing a liberal believes in, you’re considered right-wing. Just ask the poster down here from Sweeden.

Any every moderate Democrat is considered left wing by conservatives. It's the same thing at both extremes.

Doug Jones (D-AL) is being attacked as being a left wing radical. In reality, Jones is a moderate Democrat in a very red state, which by default means that he is viewed by some as a crazy liberal. I actually read up on Doug Jones a bit and found that he seems like a very decent fellow. He is running against a former football coach in Tommy Tuberville for a Senate seat from Alabama. Jones will probably lose this race based on ideology, despite being the candidate who would likely provide better leadership for Alabama to get through this COVID-19 pandemic. However, that is a choice for the people of Alabama to make.

Can someone clarify what “far right” means?

What policies would a “far right” person support?
