Seattle to tax big businesses
Seattle's City Council has approved a new tax for the city's biggest businesses and their highest earners, such as Amazon.
Called the "JumpStart Seattle" tax, the bill passed late Monday on a 7-2 vote and is expected to go into effect in 2021. Money from the tax will initially be used to fund coronavirus relief but will eventually go toward addressing housing and homelessness in Seattle.

This is just stupid. Let’s punish successful companies who hire a lot of people.

It's the "suckers can pay for the mess we made in the city" tax.

Ah, this must be :
The three wise men seem to have said it all. Nothing more for me to say... Bc
P.S. -Hmmm, perhaps in the "safe space" they have created in Seattle, without policing or a tax base, they will discover the Utopia they desire (?) Glad I live on the other coast.

Re: Seattle to tax big businesses
I live in NYC, so don't get me started on her. Amazon was going to upgrade an area that badly needed it, and were going to employ many people. Only a politician with an axe to grind would oppose it. Of course our other politicians fell in line otherwise be labeled "XYZ" (fill that in for yourselves). So what if Amazon got a "sweetheart" deal? Isn't the role of our so-called leaders to improve our city and have people on payrolls? She is a disgrace as are those who fell in lock-step behind... Bc
