Rice was a good back. But Ingram won the Heisman , and ..I think he’s just a better all around back. Rice never had “get away “ speed. Ingram is like a faster J Lewis.

You know who also won a Heisman? Johnny Manziel.

And that has what to do with our RBs?

Nothing. Just like how it has nothing to do with who was better in the NFL.

I was just thinking of Bert the other day, but in conjunction with Mahomes; I think the Ruston Rifle is a very good comp for Mahomes.

Mark Ingram doesn't have "get away" speed. Ray Rice had a faster 40 yard time as well. As a pro, Ray Rice was the much better back.

    Interesting!

I was going to side with Lax here. Ray Rice was a great pro; but I thought Ingram was the overall more explosive & powerful player, and it was only "usage" in New Orleans that kept him from racking up Ray Rice -type numbers. Sean Payton isn't in the business of making hand-offs: not with Drew mothafucken Brees on the roster. Certainly Ingram was the more celebrated player in college (Heisman winner).

But Google says you're right, Rice ran the 40 faster. (4.53 to 4.42) That's not decisive all by itself. But they're about the same size; same high-jump, and Rice benched two more reps at the Combine than Ingram did. Obviously Rice's NFL production blows Ingram's away – Ingram's played 9 seasons to Rice's 6, and is still behind him in career scrimmage yards.

    Huh.

I love Ingram. Hell, he's worth a roster spot just for being Lamar's hype man.
But I may not have fully appreciated Ray Rice.

That's unusual for a Ravens fan. I thought we all appreciated Ray Rice.

    I thought so too!

I knew Rice was a great pro. But I just assumed he was a little less explosive than Ingram; that some of what he was doing was scheme, where Ingram had more "raw talent". I thought I appreciated Rice, but may still have been selling him a little short.

Ray Rice was constantly bailing out Flacco. 4th and 29 saved our season

You said Flacco scored x points, but not all the points were through the air.

For example, one td in the mile high miracle game was an interception by the d followed by 5 carries for 32 yards and a td.
