Re: John Harbaugh's thoughts on the NFL virus guidelines.
why wouldn't a team go ahead and expose all of it's players so they can get past it before the season? Huge advantage if it means they won't lose anyone when the real games are played

Re: John Harbaugh's thoughts on the NFL virus guidelines.
Too Machiavellian. It's not like basketball where there's just a dozen players and you can sort of track things. Teams have 90 players under contract for training camp; plus there's coaching staff (the Ravens have 22 coaches, not counting support staff & analytics guys). Some player's older mom or grandma, or diabetic uncle or immuno-compromised kid, would die. Then the team would be in the position of having encouraged it, or would look like they were negligent about it, or something.
Football is still a people business. Being an asshole has repercussions (eventually).

Re: John Harbaugh's thoughts on the NFL virus guidelines.
It does kill young, healthy people and, even if none of the 90 man roster dies, there would certainly be death(s) among the players' families and friends, not to mention older coaches and their circles. They'd probably also end at least 1 career with permanent lung damage. (Of the confirmed cases among people I know personally, two, both in their 50s, will never work again due to severe lung damage.)
I don't think the Ravens want that on their conscience. As you say, that's more of a Belichick move.
I'm not hopeful we'll get a season at all this year. I think Harbaugh's right. It's impossible.

Re: John Harbaugh's thoughts on the NFL virus guidelines.
Ravenswintitle has been bringing up an interesting point of late. One that we've discussed on the board before. A lot of people are thinking of the Covid-19 issue in terms of four levels of impact.
A-symptomatic
Mild symptoms
Hospitalization needed but will be fine
Death
The fifth one that's been discussed here, but not widely discussed is in between the last two. Where, a person is hospitalized, lives, but is significantly damaged long-term from this."Please take with you this final sword, The Excellector.
