OBJ was practically being dragged by his jersey on one obvious PI that didn't get called last night. The difference is the Ravens secondary is one of the best and Cinci's is one of the worst. This punk is always making excuses as to why he sucks.

We already knew Mayfield could beat a college football team.

I didn't find what he did all that impressive the Bengals gave zero pressure and were having breakdowns all over the place.

    Here's the Brownies season:

    Week Opp Result
    1 @ Ravens L
    2 v Bengals W
    3 v Washington L
    4 @ Cowboys L
    5 v Indy W
    6 @ Steelers L
    7 @ Bengals W
    8 v Raiders L
    9 Bye L
    10 v Texans L
    11 v Eagles L
    12 @ Jaguars W
    13 @ Titans L
    14 v Ravens L
    15 @ Giants L
    16 @ Jets W
    17 v Steelers L

    Record: 5-11

Weird that they have both Cincy games before the bye.
Weird that they have back-to-back games in the Meadowlands.

Exactly. No pass rush, like literally, actually zero. Again, Ryan Fitzpatrick threw for 400 yds and 4 TD's against the Bengals defense last year... they provide absolutely no resistance, just go through your reads and deliver the ball, something just about every QB in the NFL can do without a pass rush.

Baker's false sense of confidence is going to disappear quickly when he realizes that the Bengals defense is the worst one he will face the entire season

Let’s see how he does against the WFT’s pass rush next week.

The Browns OL is pretty damn good, if anything we should feel better about our own pass rush from week 1. Baker will struggle again against WFT's defense imo. If you just get heat up the middle he panics and rolls out instantly since his field vision is poor in a congested pocket. That's why the Ravens focused their blitzing right through the A/B gaps, it worked like a charm on the Clark blitz that forced Baker to roll out right into Bowser and again with the Queen Blitz.

I don't know what the hell Cincy was doing. There is a very clear scouting report out on how to rattle Baker and they didn't follow it at all. The kid can't handle even the slightest bit of congestion in the pocket and the Bengals just refused to manufacture a rush.

The Bengals have a ton of D-line injuries including Geno Atkins who was out. They had to trade for Christian Covington because they ran out of DTs. DJ Reader now anchors the center of that line and he has no pass rush skills at all. The Bengals just didn't have the players to attack Baker that way last night.

Were they holding when Baker threw a ball directly to Calais nowhere near a receiver or nah?

I literally can't stand Baker. He's trash and a punk.

I hope our DBs adopt the LOB philosophy. Hold and hand fight on every play from the beginning. The refs might call one or two of them, but they are not gonna call it all game long. We have players savvy enough to not be obvious with the various ways to affect a WR's routes.

Baker, as the QB, can't allow the excuses (even when true) to become a part of the discussion when the team loses. And he is following the same pattern he always has of doing the exact opposite of that. You can acknowledge and say all those things on the field and in the fil room when you see it - but don't give it to the media. It's QB'ing 101. Every answer is "I gotta play better against tough teams". Plain, vanilla qb speak. Yeah we all know it's bullshit, but he wouldn't have so many people actively rooting for him to fail if he could just figure that part out.

You want your corners to be physical. All the best ones are. Does Baker expect it to be like 7 on 7's?

This is why I've never liked Baker. Just admit that you sucked and not have an excuse. He's always got an excuse or someone to blame but himself.

That D line did a hell of a job on the goal line stops. That's all the more impressive given the injuries. Very curious where they got the beef for that. They play calling by Cleveland sucked, but they didn't gain an inch 3 in a row. Most impressive defensive plays of the game.
