Depends on the quality of the decline phase, but when talking about careers in total, yes. If you're in your mid-late 30s and still a very good player, that's special.

    Good qualifier.
Favre’s longevity was special, how anyone can deny that is beyond me.

I think there is a natural bias towards high peak, short career players because we never get to see their decline phase.

Would Barry Sanders have broken Emmitt Smith's rushing record if he kept playing? It's likely, but we really don't know.

Not that Sanders really qualifies as a short career (-cough- Gale Sayers -cough-) but I think you get the point.

That's why I prefer stats compared to league average, which does very well in baseball with things like OPS+ and RC+. PFR tries to do that with AV and weighted AV but I'm not ready to buy into that yet with some of the rudimentary criteria.

    (2) 1st rounders & (1) 3rd rounder for Jamal. Would y’all pro-Jamal camp accepted that trade? Lol

So, the Jets did something right, for once.

massive haul for the Jets, that's a QB level trade. Seahawks needed an answer for Kittle

On the flip side of this, I have to question Pete Carroll’s decision making, when it comes to these trades. He’s done a lot of good things and he’s still one of the best coaches in the league (Even if he blew a title). However, too often he seems to go willy nilly with these trades.

    Apparently :

    https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...s-to-seahawks/

    " Adams and a 2022 fourth-round draft pick go to Seattle, while a 2021 first-round pick, a 2021 third-round pick, a 2022 first-round pick and safety Bradley McDougald go to New York."
