    Re: Flacco to the Jets

Is this really how Joe wants to go out? I don't get it, but if it makes him happy go for it. Goes from 25M to 1.5M and will end his career as a Jets backup.

Johnny Unitas ended his career as a Chargers backup. Damn, damn few get to go out on top.

I hear ya and I had no disagreement with him going to Denver. He was traded, still getting paid huge money. Didn't tarnish his legacy or anything. But I just don't get the point of this. The money clearly isn't the issue. He's not going to suddenly resurrect his career and become a big time starting quarterback again (I think we can all agree on that). So why not just sign a one day Ravens contract and sail off into the sunset? Guess I dont see where the upside is for him...

Because you wanna pass your info to the next generation. He has great value as a backup because he seen it all. I think he loves the game enough to instill it in others

Maybe WE can. Doesn't mean Joe is 100% reconciled to it.

Joe is signed to the Jets, but no one wants Cam Newton, at all?

It’s not up to me to think for him but I gotta agree with this point completely.
If I were him? I would have sent my retirement papers in after the season.
For $20+m last year? Gimme dat money
But $1.5- he certainly doesn’t need that. Again if I’m him and want to stay in the game I’d get into coaching or scouting.

There is. He must actively want to mentor Darnold. Good for him.

I'm suddenly struck by how similar they are as players, traits-wise.

There is an Elton John parody lurking around this thread -
    (cue falsetto)
    Flacco!
    Flacco!
    Flacco to the Jets!
    - & when I have a mind to compose & post it, I will. Don't hold your breath.
...If yinz ain't vaxxed & boosted by now, ain't nuffin' I say gonna change yer mind. Just don't drop dead on my lawn.
