The corona virus has added a new wrinkle for decision-making on the part of both players and GMs. I'm not sure how much we can glean about what Joe wants football-wise from this signing. But look at it this way - it's at least $1.5M no matter what happens with the upcoming season. A far cry from what he used to make, true. Then again, a lot better than nothing if he doesn't sign and ends up with no other offers. And the risk of a modified season due to corona virus might make players in Joe's situation more likely to take a sure thing now instead of waiting for something better.
