Ravens Signing OG/T DJ Fluker

Two days after the #Seahawks released him, DJ Fluker has agreed to terms with the #Ravens, per @RapSheet
. He’ll have a chance to compete for the starting job at RG.

No details on the deal yet. Probably a 1-yr deal.

He's a decent run blocker, very strong, but he's like a penalty machine as a pass blocker. Lol...

I consider this a 'why not'? signing.

If you can put him in time machine, then you got a starting OG.

If not he's cut.

Awesome run blocker. Very powerful. Big guy with long arms.

Does well when pass-rushers come right at him, but in general, he's not an awesome pass blocker.

I feel like he is replacing James Hurst. Decent experienced back-up at both G and T.

The difference between him and Hurst, is that Joe D' might be able to catch lightening in a bottle with Fluker.

We'll see if he makes the team and if he's a backup or a starter. Hoping he ends up getting cut or is a backup, since that would seem to bode well for our other, homegrown guys. Experienced depth isn't a bad thing.

Didn't he coach Fluker when he was in San Diego?

Edit - He did indeed. Joe-D was the OL coach when the Chargers drafted Fluker in 2013. So, he coached Fluker from 2013-2016. Joe D came to the Ravens in 2017.
