Re: Should the draft be postponed?
AGREED. That's BETTER than normal. And if there aren't fans around and whatnot, there aren't costs associated. ESPN and the NFL Network will need to do a better than normal job of getting a lot of video of player number 200. They gotta get lots of footage of DTs playing offense in high school.

Re: Should the draft be postponed?
Selfishly...no...Draft weekend is one of my favorite weekends of the year.
But of course it should be delayed, how many kids are not even going to get a chance to have pro days...a lot of kids didn't participate at the Combine and will be going into the draft without an opportunity to do any drills in front of coaches/scouts and meet with teams at facilities.Although Walsh's system of offense can compensate for lack of talent; however, defense is a different story. According to Walsh, talent on defense was essential and could not be compensated for. What did Walsh do in 1981? He acquired physical and talented players on defense.

Re: Should the draft be postponed?
Good. More decisions will be made based on how they look on a football field, which is how it should be anyway.
Unless you’re just already giving up hope on having a football season this year btw there won’t be much of an opportunity to postpone this thing anyway. Very optimistically maybe everything gets back to normal by July. Have pro days and interviews then, have the draft in August, and then these kids are supposed to learn their playbooks and start playing for their new teams in September? That’s pretty crunched.
Have the draft now, let the kids study their playbooks at home, and then if everything does resume in late summer they can at least have a minicamp and a few practices with their team before being thrown into the fire instead of spending that time running sprints and benching with no clue who they’ll even be playing for.

Re: Should the draft be postponed?
My opinion is they should run the draft. They have the means to do it and regardless of the outbreak, it will be a long time before they can gather a crowd to do the production they are used to. They should adhere to business as usual as close as they can without any more delays.

Re: Should the draft be postponed?
Yes, the draft should be postponed. You cannot have a draft where you haven’t even been able to get up to date medical and physical examinations of a player you’re about to pay a 6-7 figure salary to.
Yes, there is tape...........from January and back. You need to be able to see what condition these players are currently in. A player can have strong tape, but be currently dealing with an injury or be out of shape and you would never know it. There has certainly been players with great tape who fall into that category, in the past. A lot of players already missed out on opportunities to showcases themselves as it is. At the bottom of the food chain, scouts can only study but so much tape. So, a lot of small school guys rely heavily on these workouts to get noticed.
Free Agency has been negatively affected by the inability of teams to complete physicals. We should not go on with the draft as scheduled, just because some fans are bored or need a distraction during a world crisis.

Re: Should the draft be postponed?
No question.
However I think there's also value in having kids visit and meet with teams beforehand. I also believe in tape first and foremost, but there's a reason why they do workouts as well. Some kids got 2 shots, some got 1, some got none. Also, what about the physicals as Ex stated?Although Walsh's system of offense can compensate for lack of talent; however, defense is a different story. According to Walsh, talent on defense was essential and could not be compensated for. What did Walsh do in 1981? He acquired physical and talented players on defense.
