Re: 2020 RSR Mock Draft 2.0 - Discussion Thread
I do believe the Dolphins have the culture to properly develop a young QB. Brian Flores honestly deserves COY consideration for how well that team played down the stretch last year despite a historically terrible roster.
They do not, however, have the personnel to develop a young QB. I don’t want to draft one just to do it and then let him get beat to shit behind a dreadful offensive line. That’s the fastest way to ruin a QBs development.
I thought about waiting and taking whichever of the top four OTs was available at 17. But I really believe Wirfs has separated himself from the pack. His combination of athleticism, size, and power is truly freakish. And he has the nastiness to really take advantage of those traits. Best of all he’s aggressive as hell but never seems unbalanced. He’s an instant starter and should be a cornerstone for the efforts to rebuild the line.
If there were trades in this draft I’d probably have gone QB here, for the record. But as it stands I’m confident I’ll still be able to get my guy.

I might try this but I’ll probably need help picking. I’ve never done this before.

As far as "never done this before", my sister-in-law never sees her toes but seems to walk to the dinner table just fine.
Give it a try... Bc

With the 7th pick in the RSR Mock Draft 2.0, the Carolina Panthers select Justin Herbert, Quarterback, Oregon. When you are in need of a franchise QB, you don't mess around. You take the best one you can get. If we had decided to allow trades in this mock, we would have been working the phones HARD, trying to move up for Tua, or drop back and probably be able to get Herbert later. But without trades this is the best way to cross "quarterback" off of our shopping list.
