    Re: An undefendable offense

When I post on this topic from my tablet, autocorrect keeps changing it to "undependable offense".

    Which, yeah: been there.

Yes, undependable is pretty close to unremarkable. Err, I mean indefensible. Damn, unrecognizable. Stupid auto-correct--uncategorical....uncertifiable...unclassifiable....undeliverable...unimaginable...unadvisable...inadmissible...inexplicable...unmotivational...unprofessionable...unadvisable...unforgivable..... Never mind. I need to update my 2017 autocorrector.

    Tyre Phillips

    Tayvon Hill type utility threat?
DuVernay - can run and throw in addition to WR/returner

A McCafferty type pass catching back?
McCafferty is a rare talent in this regard but JK Dobbins has the skillset to develop in a good receiving option.

My answer would be another WR with explosive speed. While teams may have one DB capable of matching up against Hollywood, do they have a second to match up similarly on the opposite side? Will that cause DBs to turn and run, opening up the middle of the field for Andrews, Lamar and Mark? I think so.
Not Ruggs level speed but DuVernay's 4.39 is still flying

So Looking back to the OP, DeCosta covered all the areas he mentioned in the interview and addressed all the areas that Shas mentioned.

Which got me thinking where does this offense need to improve from looking at their statistical measures and rankings.
(And I didn't want to start another thread w/ a topic this similar)

    Football Outsiders - Offense Rankings
    #1 Overall Baltimore Ravens - DVOA - 27.7%
#1 Pass Offense - Baltimore Ravens -DVOA- 47.2%
#1 Rush Offense- Baltimore Ravens -DVOA- 21.5%

I'm gonna compare them to the 2018 Chiefs but that will have to wait......my son needs the laptop for school...……...

Agreed with most of the above Ed but Duvernay attempted two passes in his four year college career and completed then both for a total of 14 yards. He’s hardly Mohammed Sanu let alone Taysom Hill.

    Just for reference:
2018 the Chiefs were the #1 offense by the Football Outsiders metrics:

    #1 overall - 34.2%
    #1 Pass - 62.9%
    #4 Rush - 11%

    * even 3rd down conversion rate was tops at 48.29%

Looking at the numbers didn't reveal anything glaring about the offense at all....I actually forgot how good the offense was last year and for them to be #1 across the board overall, pass and rushing speaks to how masterful a job Roman/Harbs did and how the rarified air Lamar played on last year.

My next thought is to look at the personnel in each unit.

Ravens have top 10 personnel at QB, TE and RB (almost 2, Gus was #11).

When it comes to WRs - the Ravens didn't have any in top 10 or in the top 32 was Hollywood at 42nd.

For comparison the Chiefs had 2 WRs in the top 32 -Hill #5 and Watkins #22 in 2018

Guys, I think Hollywood is about to do something serious to DBs this year.
