Re: Calais Campbell to Ravens for 5th round pick
Things I like about this -
-Veteran leadership on the DL.
-Good fit as a 5-Tech DE.
-Durable - he hasn't missed a game since 2014.
Things I dislike about this -
-Giving an extension to a soon-to-be 34 year old player.Disclaimer: The content posted is of my own opinion.

Re: Calais Campbell to Ravens for 5th round pick
finally an interior guy who can legit pressure the QB. IMO this bumps pass rusher down (even though campbell isn't an edge player) and brings ILB up in terms of what we spend a first rounder on (or maybe guard too, prob snag a top 2 or 3 guard where we draft)

Interior pass rush is the best pass rush.
Now lets hope EDC can do some contract wizardry with that cap hit.

I feel like I should be more excited about this than I am.

Re: Calais Campbell to Ravens for 5th round pick
I take it as the extension is a necessity to fit him under the cap since there's practically no way we can work with the $15M cap number. Considering Calais' consistency I'll take the risk to tack on an extra couple years (and I'm sure we'd be able to get out of it at a reasonable dead salary by 2022)
