I was about to jokingly award DeCosta an Oscar for best use of a 5th round pick... but then I remembered Peters and now I’m stumped.

We may have gotten a 5th for Elumenor too.. I think we have a 6th back with him or something if memory serves.

Not actually true; DeCosta turned Vedvik, Young and a 5th into Peters and Campbell, which is still ridiculous.

I’m actually going to say the opposite. If we can extend Stanley, Campbell and Judon, than our splash is done and we can fill in the cracks. Calais Campbell is exactly the player that allows Judon to be the Robin to a Batman.

It sounds like the Campbell deal was contingent on an extension to lower the 2020 Cap # from $15M so I'm assuming it's pretty much done. I don't think this deal has any direct effect on Judon. I wouldn't be surprised if Eric still had no idea what he's going to do there. Franchise tagging gives him options which is a good thing to have. Either can play on the tag, extend at market $ (and increase 2020 cap space by lowering cap # for year 1) or tag+trade for some good draft capital. It's a good problem to have.
