Re: OT - coronavirus
2 things. Those numbers include people who died from other things and also had COVID, we really don't know the number JUST COVID killed.
And the "hoax" I think he's referring to is all the BS shutdowns, the false postive numbers, governments not releasing numbers etc. is what he's talking about.

Re: OT - coronavirus
Influenza is currently killing at record low levels in the Southern Hemisphere. It usually kills in winter time and due to border closures, there isn’t much virus around.
The warmer months have passed, winter is coming. Your bodies immune system is stronger in summer, so the risk increases in winter. I would still recommend a mask, more so in winter.... in 4 months we will see if the daily death rate is going up or down.
I have two boys under 5. My immunity would be close to its highest at the moment and I still don’t want Covid.

Re: OT - coronavirus
The co-morbidity, the other things that were wrong with people, that make Covid kill them are a whole range of things. Obesity is one of the more common co-morbidities and it doesn’t kill you but it certainly increase risk of death from many other things.
I ignore most of the stupid stuff about Covid. Some really annoys me, like hydroxychlochlorine (spelling?) and lack of transparent data. It’s hard to make an informed decision, when there is an obvious misinformation campaign going on around us.
A few weeks ago, I had a long debate with someone about Covid facts. In the end, we found that aside from Scientific publications that had been around for years, that all the new websites were pushing misinformation. Sometimes the media were pushing information from those sources too. The only ones that we decided we could rely on were not published in the US. That is a severe indictment on our media. YouTube, Facebook and Google were even worse.
All I can tell you is that these things work:
Dexamethasone as a treatment
Mask wearing and social distancing to reduce infection -lockdowns being severe version of social distancing
remdesivir to speed recovery
Lots of other things are being trialed and I hope we get a better option soon.

Re: OT - coronavirus
I wouldn't call COVID a hoax. It's clearly real. It can clearly fuck people up.
I would agree that the "hoax" aspect is the overreaction and the back and forth on everything.
What I think is the most egregious offense are politicians that were acting like this was no big deal back in February and March...and then in April it was all about how Trump fucked up. I'm not saying Trump did everything perfectly, but I just don't see how anyone can take some of these state governors, mayors, and even big name politicians like Pelosi seriously at all.Disclaimer: The content posted is of my own opinion.
