I know hes always said some odd things and is known for his gaffs, but this "tough guy" act seemed newer to me. Point remains whether its new or old though, I dont care for it, but i guess i can believe its more genuine at least.

I pegged Biden as an idiot and doofus as far back as the 80's. Seeing him during the Clarence Thomas confirmation hearings, just the facial expressions and the way he acted/talked cinched it for me. Then there was the plagiarism thing... When did that happen?

He's not completely without charm. He's photogenic and congenial and folksy but that is inseparable from the hair sniffing, touching and cringy stuff.

He's a flawed guy. It's frightening to think that's the best Democrats seem to be able to do.

He could become another candidate people dont like but support his policies, which many Trump supporters have argued in defense of their support.

Ive told my friends that I feel Biden vs Trump would just be a shit show of two 75+ year old men talking about kicking each others asses and trading insults that nobody really wants to see outside politics (imagine two elderly men in the street of your neighborhood doing the same). I mean I guess some would enjoy the entertainment factor, but for me its just a sad state of where we are. we can all do better, and deserve better.

IMO, theres plenty of good people with the same political views that these two portray that wouldnt change anything about political choice, just offer better people behind them. Im not sure Biden will be the choice ultimately, but theres not a good one in the DNC regardless (I do like Tulsi best), so a shit show is what well have.
We have plenty of Trump threads. This one is to drill into Biden.

    Is he electable?

I guess he'll pick up steam here soon but really. How does that even come out of your mouth when running for president.

For most people that would be the end of their candidacy. For Crazy Uncle Joe it's just another day breathing.
Honestly, with some of the crap trump was saying on Twitter and campaign events, didn't think he'd be electable either. You never know.

    Yeah right?

I thought Trump would flame out in early in 2015. He was widely seen as kind of a joke and an unserious candidate.

    We live in strange times

Biden's old age has taken away his politician filter, where you kiss as many hineys as possible while offending as few as possible. He has been pulled to the left by the rest of the candidates, which ruined his "moderate" label, not that he was ever a true moderate, IMO. He has damaged his "nice guy" image. He's also got Ukraine hanging over his head. Obama has refused to endorse him. He is toast. Trump has no filter of any kind, never has and never will.

Trump wasn't insulting voters. THAT is what Biden is doing. Biden is getting into it w/people who are attending his "gatherings" and town hall events and calling them names and insulting them.

That's not decorum. That's a grandpa who needs to take some Cialis, sit on a hill w/his wife and watch the sun set. I bet Joe is wearing diapers at all his public appearances.
I do agree that Trump hasn't ever launched an offensive for no reason whatsoever. Usually, it is defending himself. I'd love to see an example of him making fun of an individual specific person completely unsolicited or in defense. Does anyone have one?

This is one of the best descriptions of Joe. I think the real problem with him is that he's never been anything but a Senator. This guy has zero idea how people interact at this point... the beltway isn't even close to the rest of America in most senses. Someone like Biden has to have PR people TELL him what normal people like, which is why it always sounds so forced when long-time politicians speak. Bernie has never had a real job outside of Senate. Guy was basically on food stamps and then got elected... what the hell does he know about modern American life?

Then they live in this echo chamber of other politicians who also have no idea what affects normal people. I've always been more supportive of the Republicans purely based on the fact that a majority of them have had real jobs prior to service which include military, business, and trades. Democrats have "some" but for the most part they were either life-long government workers or Tort Lawyers... Maybe the occasional prosecutor/defense attorney. I'm not a republican because of dirtbags like John McCain, Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, Lindsay Graham, and the rest of the fossils that sit up there paying lip-service to the voter while they skim just as much off the top as the Democrats. 98% of career politicians are scumbags... and you really have to be TOP scumbag to get RE-ELECTED to a national seat. Wild-cards can make it in sometimes, but they are usually tainted by their first reelection...

The lack of filters on either of them would make for fun debates

Yep, but it looks like Joe might not even make it out of South Carolina.
