    Another smart move by EDC

Great move. Only 24 years old too.

Good luck on your next team TJ.

Id like to see some numbers, but I like the player, so Im happy about that he'll be here for the start of his prime.

    EDIT: saw numbers above.

Id say thats a good deal. TJ was brought in at 8.5/year and Clark outplayed him. Id say he would have exceeded that on the open market. He wants to here.

Impressive for what many thought was a wasted draft pick.

Wasn’t he a 6th round pick? Who’s complaining about a “wasted” 6th? He’s always been a good ST’er at minimum. People complaining about Chuck Clark are dumb.

DeCosta, man. He's so goddam decisive.

I respected Ozzie's methodical, "first do no harm" approach to the roster. It was very old school: patient, don't tear up contracts early, draftees who make the Pro Bowl get paid, everyone else has to wait their turn, trust veterans, don't throw money at unproven guys. And Ozzie was successful for many years. Consistent AF, disciplined rather than impulsive.

This is DIFFERENT. Much more aggressive. I'm not sure what DeCosta's list of "descriptive traits" will turn out to be – check back in 5 years, I guess – but it seems like part of that list will be, "attack problems", and "work every angle", and "aggressively extend promising young guys early to lock them up", and "stay young". Oh, and "act first".

All of which is fucking awesome.

We seem to be in really good hands.

That's a really good contract for the team IMO. Well deserved by Clark for his play last year.
