Re: How Does Every Single Player Deserve Blame?

My take : this was an epic fail. Everyone, but IMO especially the coaching staff, is to blame. No excuses! Our prime players had three weeks of rest, the coaches had three weeks of preparation, the others had two. We were the superior team, but put out an inferior effort... Period! I just hope the Ravens learned something from this loss and can move on to success in 2020... Bc

What you said there is why I started this topic where we list out why every player deserved blame.

    For example,

Why does Hollywood Brown deserve blame?

Why does Marcus Peters deserve blame?

Why does Justin Tucker deserve blame?

Re: How Does Every Single Player Deserve Blame?

Most football fans have no clue about the strategy side of football. All they can see are players either making plays or not. So thatÂ’s who they blame. They donÂ’t see the chess game of football. They just see the pieces moving.

This game was blown from a strategy standpoint before the players even took the field.

Gus Edwards running down their throat at game would have produced the win.

Our entire offense is predicated on the run. Not just getting the yards. But the play action, the linebackers playing the run while the TEs get the middle of the field while they pretend to be run blocking but slip out for a pass.

So much of our offensive strategy is predicated on running and specially running out of the read option. (Not run pass option as a previous poster suggested).

Not only did we not run but we ran a spread offense. Spread formations with empty backfields is a terrible formation to run with this team. The defensive line pins their ears back and go straight for the sack.

Which is also why our pass blocking was so bad. Lamar under constant pressure:

There is so much to be said about the horrible job of the coaching staff to put together a game plan.

I get it lamar is an easy target. But the second year QB was set up for failure. 70 pass plays called? When he on average throws what 22-25 passes per game???

Further more we donÂ’t have a Travis kelce, hill, nor a Sammy Watkins on the team. Our #1 receiver is literally a rookie who has been hobbled most of the year.

Gameplan was the biggest key to failure IMO

Marcus Peter's played great that game. There is zero blame headed his way.

Hollywood's insane catch might have gone down as "the played that breathed life back into our season" had Harbaugh not shoddily wasted timeouts and butchered clock management during that two minute drill.

Hard to give blame to the Wolfpack either.

Yanda and Bozeman held up well and Zeus Jr. played decently.

Jimmy Smith played a good game as well.

I like that idea better now that I think of it, where we list out the folks that don't deserve blame as opposed to the ones that do. I think I will do that from now on.
