Here are some final grades for other players for reference. These are assuming they don't come back like Trawick just did.

    65.1 Pernell McPhee
    63.0 Matt Skura
    50.8 Daylon Mack
    49.4 Tony Jefferson

And here are how players are faring who are on other teams now:

    66.8 Bennett Jackson (Free Agent)
    66.4 Maurice Canady (NYJ)
    55.8 Tim Williams (GB)
    55.7 Cyrus Jones (DEN)
    55.2 Alex Lewis (NYJ)
    53.8 Kenny Young (LAR)
    51.5 Justin Bethel (NE)
    50.2 Jermaine Eluemunor (NE)

Re: PFF Grades After Week 13 (San Francisco)

In general, the players we noticed played bad dropped in overall score, and the players we noticed did well went up. Marcus Peters had a bad game tackling; he dropped. Jaylon Ferguson struggled on the edge; he dropped. Patrick Mekari held his own against tough competition; his score rose. But I have a few quibbles.

It seems PFF disagrees with our resident OL Expert Filmstudy, who gave Marshal Yanda an A and Ronnie Stanley a lower grade. PFF dropped Yanda's overall score which means his single game grade was lackluster. Who is more accurate? I'll go with our guy. But Yanda will probably end the season with his typical accolades.

Why in the world does Patrick Ricard NOT have a grade yet? Can't they at least separate him as FB and DT? Whatever.

The most glaring thing that I see is the low grade for Marlon Humphrey. I consider this a reasonable topic for debate at this point. He's allowed 46 completions on 81 targets with 6 break-ups. He's 8th in the league in Passer Rating Allowed (78.6). He's 6th in the league in YPR allowed (9.7) and 7th in yards per target (5.5). Giving up 5.5 yards per target with the WRs he's been matched up with should have him among the best rated CB, and yet he's something around 25th. It's disappointing to see.

So Chris Moore makes one of the greatest special teams plays I’ve ever seen and he get graded so low it’s almost cut me territory. Yeah PFF makes a lot of sense. Some guys make a single play which saves a game or season. These PFF grades just fail to show the impact of a player.

They are not meant to be comprehensive. Stop thinking of them in such black and white terms.

It's obvious that these grades do not count special teams -- ST players who haven't seen snaps on offense or defense don't even have a grade. So what you see from Moore is strictly as a WR. Same goes for De'Anthony Thomas. Have to take these grades with a grain of salt.

At the end of the day, I think what bothers me the most is how PFF grades gets pushed in mainstream media these days. They get pushed as if they're gospel. That's where I think I really take issue. If we were to try and come up with a grading system, none of us would bat 1.000, because grading systems of this nature generally don't work in a darn near, full contact sport with 22 moving parts. However, it's when these things get pushed as gospel straight from the Bible, that irks me as a fan.

They now show up with the player introductions during Sunday Night Football. They are referenced on every major sports/football talk show.

So mentioning them at all is akin to taking them as gospel?

That is the way the world works - a measure gets used by the media and it becomes the gospel.
