Re: If you had to give your own TED Talk.....

If I had to give a TED talk, I think I'd give it on LEADERSHIP and TRUST: how to build trust under pressure.

One of the things that fascinates me is the concept of leadership and how to be an effective leader...especially in a historical context.

MLK, G. Washington, Lincoln, Hitler, Stalin, Thatcher, Churchill, B Franklin, Gandhi, T Roosevelt, Roger Staubach, Peyton Manning, Ray Lewis, etc...at the core of all of these characters in history is their ability to instill trust in the people who follow them. Good or bad...it didn't matter. During turbulent times, people looked to these people to lead them. People listened to them. People believed in them. People trusted them. Why?

I actually study this topic for my job...so...it's something I already do everyday.

Leadership is built on trust...first and foremost.

You’ll get a thank you from me as long as your not one of those people who hold the door for someone who is like 15 feet away from it.

I will follow up your talk with one on proper polite responses. If I say:
    -Thank you
    -Excuse me
    -I'm sorry
    -Good morning/afternoon

    Your response should not be:
    -Uh huh
    -Mmm
    -Sure
    -Some other noise

    1) How the Baltimore ravens became the best team in football.

    2) SpaceX and the next space revolution that's happening without most people noticing.

Your reward is being a decent person, not the "thank you."

It makes you feel better about yourself and makes life more enjoyable. Don't worry about what others do or say (or don't do and say). Just be a good person and know you are.

Well this thread has me feeling like I don't know shit! Lol

Tried to think of something I could talk about that I'm knowledgeable enough to talk on, and nothing comes to mind. :(

    Le sigh... lol

Does 2+2=4? If you don't think that is an absolute truth try arguing with your bank about it. They are quite confident they "know the truth."

I hear ya. I'm on your side with this one (hence the quotes ) My response when someone says "no knows/can know the truth" is.. "how do you know that"?
