If Brandon Williams or Pierce are already getting double teams, adding another Williams on the other side who can take on another double team would surely open things up for blitzers.

This is the type of move that moves the needle from pretender to contender. How much I don’t know but for essentially a 5th and deferring your 3rd round pick a year. You make that move!!!
With Bynes improving our LB play. Clark a potential upgrade over Jefferson and adding Peters/Smith to our secondary.. why not make this move?!?! It is hardly mortgaging the future and who in AFC scares you besides the Patriots??
I am loving EDC year 1 he is proving to be aggressive yet not reckless at trying to fix the holes.

Word is Jets have been a bit disappointed in Williams, but for a 3rd and 5th...absolutely would make that trade.
Although Walsh's system of offense can compensate for lack of talent; however, defense is a different story. According to Walsh, talent on defense was essential and could not be compensated for. What did Walsh do in 1981? He acquired physical and talented players on defense.
