The Chinese state media decided to run an op-ed in honor of their biggest spokesman...LeBron James...by arguing that anyone who criticizes him must be a racist.
What an odd tactic being used by China here. Weaponizing unfounded claims of racism is something I've never seen before.

Actually, this is quite common practice in China whenever they´re displeased with some foreign country or organization. If your foreign minister happens to mention something about Tibet or persecution of minorities for example, you can be sure there´s gonna be a smear campaign towards your country for a while. It´s happened here in Sweden on many occassions actually...
