...sheesh, when is Jimmy Smith coming back? Needless to say, we need him back ASAP.

This secondary is Swiss cheese. Reminds me of the Frank walker, Chykke Brown, Shareece right eras. We can’t cover shit!!!!

The pass defense definitely has real problems right now, there's no doubt about it. Baker and the Browns offense hasn't been great but we could be the cure to that if we don't get our communication issues sorted out.

I have this painful image right now of ODB one handed catching bombs downfield that our DB's failed to locate.

You'd have a point if it was just the Chiefs game, but they gave up 350 yards to Kyler Murray and the Cardinals in his first road start, and Murray was objectively awful yesterday against the Panthers, he had like 173 yards on 43 attempts and took 8 sacks. There's also all the open guys in the Dolphins game that Fitzpatrick and Rosen couldn't hit. It's not something that can be brushed off by "it was the Chiefs" imo. I don't expect them to be bottom of the league all year but they have very real problems right now.

It's not the yards that are concerning to me, it's the blown overages the last 2 weeks against competent passing games. It's alarming. And it's not like QB is standing back there 5 seconds...these are blown coverages as soon as the QB hits their back foot.
Although Walsh's system of offense can compensate for lack of talent; however, defense is a different story. According to Walsh, talent on defense was essential and could not be compensated for. What did Walsh do in 1981? He acquired physical and talented players on defense.
