Well we're more than a third of the way through the season and so far it has happened. We'll see how it goes over the last 10 games.

Also, Saquon did win OROY over Baker last year.
I know. I was making the point about the "surrounding cast". If Saquon had a crushing O-line in front of him (which he did not), he still would have won. The point was voters don't often care about the supporting cast, just numbers.

Yup. These are all just amateur opinions, lol.

This point is difficult for me to comprehend. Saquon won it with a bad supporting cast, but if he had a better supporting cast (which means he likely would've performed better as well), you think he still would've won? I don't understand what that is meant to communicate. It seems exceedingly obvious to me.

My overall point wasn't that I think Minshew is going to win. It was more that he has flat out been the best rookie so far, yet my boy Shrubbs was acting like he was going out on a limb by even including him in the conversation lol.

I do think Minshew will fade and Murray will win. But right now Minshew is really the only real challenger.

    OROY

Am I the only one that thinks Minshew looks more like a 1970’s porn actor than an NFL QB?

.Cardinals taking a page out of the Ravens success and running Murray more now and it's working. If he doesn't get injured looks like Murray get's it.

    Re: OROY

It's going to be Murray, short of an injury. If that happens then likely Jacobs. With this injury potentially costing him at least two weeks I don't see Hollywood getting in the discussion, plus Mclaurin is doing really well on a deadbeat team.

    Re: OROY

QBs will just about always win over non-QBs, if they have solid seasons. Baker was solid and flashed promise last year, but hardly lit the world on fire, and he still BARELY lost to Saquon who *led the entire league in all purpose yards*.

Jacobs and McLaurin have been good, but they certainly haven’t been Saquon. Unless Minshew loses his job to Foles I have a hard time seeing any non-QB finishing ahead of him. Murray is definitely the favorite but it’s likely to come down to one of those two, with Jones maybe getting in the mix if he catches fire.

I’m honestly surprised the degree to which Minshew is being dismissed in here. I wonder if the novelty factor is actually hurting him, and people are assuming he’s just a fun personality and not noticing how legitimately good he’s been.

He has the best stats of any rookie right now. And if you’ve watched any game but the most recent one you know they’re not empty calorie stats.

There is still a lot of football left to be played, but I think ROY is Gardner Minshew's award to lose right now.
