I will wait for IncarceratedBob's information on the matter.

Interesting comments from Jags fans. Most of them see the Ravens as a playoff team, hence that first round pick might as well be a second. Most think Hurst sucks and the deal is laughable. I doubt Decosta offers much else, if the rumors are in fact true.

If I'm Jacksonville, I'm strongly considering that deal for one reason only - when it comes time for an extension, is Jalen Ramsey really going to accept an offer from Jacksonville? My guess is that he is going to force JAX to use the tag on him, which will be expensive.

    2020 Cap Hits -
Marcel Dareus & Nick Foles both have over 22 mill cap hit.
Calais Campbell has over $17 mill cap hit.

Also, keep in mind, the Jags are going to have to pay Yannick Ngakuoue. He could easily get top-5 pass rusher salary.

They have a lot of money tied up in a handful of players right now.

Getting 2 high draft picks and a TE still on his rookie deal and is probably going to give you 50+ receptions...

I dont know. I could see how that would be tempting.

The fact that they turned it down suggests they're not interested in trading Ramsey at all.

Agreed, if this is all true I can’t imagine they get a better offer.
If this is true, has anyone scoured other PS’s for a reasonable facsimile 3rd string TE that can block and catch?

That kid we had in the preseason seemed rosterable at least

Let the games begin...Ramsey is saying he's "sick" and is refusing to practice.
Although Walsh's system of offense can compensate for lack of talent; however, defense is a different story. According to Walsh, talent on defense was essential and could not be compensated for. What did Walsh do in 1981? He acquired physical and talented players on defense.

I don’t see Tom Coughlin or Doug Marone putting up with that kind of nonsense for too much longer.

I could also see Coughlin not giving in if he thinks it's BS.

The Jags deserve this. If the guy doesn't want to play for you then take the best offer on the table for him and move on. It's not like the Melvin Gordon situation where he just wants a new contract and is open to staying if you will pay him. Ramsey wants a trade, point blank. The Steelers went through this with AB and they tried to patch things up, didn't work, they dealt him and just moved on. Why cause a massive distraction for your team and spend all this energy prolonging the inevitable?

From all accounts we aren't even lowballing them, we're giving them a nice haul. Coughlin should have made the deal last Friday and got on with the rest of the season. Just pure pettiness from their front office to try to draw this out and make it into a shit show.

Can easily see this getting really ugly.

Look for the Jags to send him home without pay shortly for conduct detrimental.
