What was your response to NC saying being pro-marriage doesn't mean you hate people who are different than you? Oh yeah, "Well it kinda does".

Darb my man ...I know you’re a very educated man. But I can’t see where I said anything like that in this thread. I also know you and I Def don’t see eye to eye when it comes to Religious theory. But your trying to paint a picture that just ain’t there.

It’s an annoying assumption to consistently hear...pro-God = hate gays or pro-God = pedophilia or whatever outlier label people try to attach to believing in God.

For people who are actually Jewish or Christian and have been part of many different church communities where NONE of those assumptions are true...when we hear shit like that...it’s clearly coming from someone who simply doesn’t know what the hell they’re talking about.

I’m anti-weed. I would support politicians who are anti-weed as well. To assume that means I hate people who smoke weed is textbook ignorance. I am anti-rap. To say that I hate people who like rap is textbook ignorance. I am anti-gay marriage. To assume that means I hate gay people is textbook ignorance.

Either get smart or keep pushing an opinion clearly founded in perception and not reality while risk sounding dumb.

    That’s all :)

Now RAV....much like NC we’ve had quite a few discussions here. I wouldn’t categorize either of you as having any hate towards anyone. But( to me ) it seems to be anti any kind of human is hypocritical of being Christian. Now lemme clarify for Darb.

Back when I went to Sunday School and “big church” through my teens , I was taught that to be Christian meant to have love for your fellow man in your heart and not have any hatred towards anyone. Also to try to be accepting of others who may not share your beliefs.
That being said I don’t understand how someone can be a Christian and be Anti anyone. You may not support them, but to be anti them because of religion, sexuality , race whatever is to me Hypocritical.

And like me and NC spoke to ...I think it’s perfectly acceptable for ANY and ALL churches or places of worship to refuse a same sex marriage but why can’t they marry at the court house? That’s not a religious place nor is it technically a religious ceremony.

Disagreeing with other people’s choices doesn’t = hate. You keep equating the 2. You’re wrong.

God = love. Anyone who says differently is wrong. Case closed.

You're saying that anybody who opposes same-sex marriage is anti-gay. I am not misunderstanding your intent, I am not putting words in your mouth. As is typical with your responses in these threads, you refuse to accept that a religious person can have reasons for disagreeing with a particular idea/action/ect... aside from their faith. The Conference of Catholic Bishops filed an amicus with the SCOTUS against gay marriage using secular arguments.http://sblog.s3.amazonaws.com/wp-con...licBishops.pdf

I am anti-socialism. As a general rule of thumb I consider any person dumb enough to support socialism garbage that should not be treated with even a modicum of respect.
I am anti-NASCAR being considered a sport. As a general rule of thumb I get along great with people who view NASCAR as a sport.

And I agree that disagreeing with someone’s choices isn’t hate. But for that argument to work here you’re inferring that being gay is a choice. And while I’ll agree that most of the crazy shit the Alphabet people come off with is a choice ....I don’t get how being gay is one of them.

I agree 100% that yes God =Love. Love is blind. And you as a human can’t pick and choose who you love.

Ok. Fine. Then I’m Super curious as to why YOU are against same sex marriage. Like I said earlier I believe you to be a very educated man and that being said I’d really like to know the why to your personal feelings.

    Few things:

Everyone who is gay is not born that way, SOME definitely chose it.

2nd, why do we say that it’s not a choice like people would never choose it if they could? Is there something wrong with it where they shouldn’t choose it?

3rd: I’ve posted this before on this topic
    https://summitchurch.com/message/how...affects-us-all
This is a mega church here in Raleigh, with like 16,000 members. The pastor is president of the Southern Baptist Convention (hard to get more conservative Christian) with 48,000 churches. It starts at the 10:00 mark till about the 37:00 minute mark, where he talks about not being the worst sin, saying not to treat gay people differently, that God loves them as much as he loves him (the Pastor) AND that he agrees they were born that way (that’s about the 25:00 mark) the acting on it is the choice.

I post all that to say, the perception that conservative Christians hate gay people is a bit prejudice.

Disagree w/doesn’t = hate. Never has. Never will.

I don’t agree w/some of your takes (this one). I don’t hate you.

I don’t agree w/my one of my buddy’s oipioid issues. He’s got a disease. I get it. It’s not his fault. I don’t hate him.

The Left agrees w/your assumption, Lax. Those idiots on college campuses who protest ChicFilA agree w/your assumption.

    You’re smarter than that.

You know I genuinely like all you guys. And I know we collectively are never ever gonna see things the same. And that’s cool. And I guess at some point at the end of our days we’ll all find out who is right.
