Is Trace McSorley a legit backup qb?

I can't say I see them looking outside the organization if RG3 is still hurt heading into the first game. Anyone that would potentially represent a real, substantial upgrade over McSorley is almost certainly going to be a vested vet which means you are on the hook for his contract for the season if he's on the roster W1. I don't see the team doing that when RG3 is definitely going to be back at some point early.

I've read RG3 has been throwing and with 3 weeks until the season opener, I'd be surprised if he's not ready.

I'd keep McSorley over RG3. He can do everything RG3 does and more. Plus, he has a future and RG3 has none.
