Thread: The “Squad”

    The “Squad”

Legitimate questions for the group. Do YOU think what Trump tweeted/said was “racist”? (Not what MSM thinks, please don’t post an article with BuzzFeeds opinion). If so, how? And also... do you think having this “squad”, who poll nationally between 6-25% approval rating, be defended by the Democrats publicly will help democrats in ANY way?

    Re: The “Squad”

    What race was he denigrating?

Jeb Bush, Justin Amash, Bill Kristol, Joe Scarborough, Ben Sasse, Jeff Flake, Paul Ryan, and Mitt Romney are all losers and Trump has defended himself against all of their idiocy as well. I guess he hates white males too?

This race shit is played out and counterproductive. The DNC is completely irrelevant in furthering America’s prosperity.

Baldy is probably busy stalking Jameson Hensley and Jeff Zriebiec at the moment, ramping up for training camp. No, it was not racist, what Trump said. The media didn't even replay the entire clip. That said, he could have chosen his words better. Like he did today, he needs to hammer these 4 about their outright hatred for this country, and tie them to the Democratic Presidential hopefuls who they all have backed in one way or the other.

I agree with the comments in here. I think that him calling attention to them was genius. A majority of this country is sick of this “everything is racist!” nonsense. He’s calling attention to the lowest polling members of the DNC and MAKING Pelosi defend them. She walked off the floor tonight because she knows the “squad” is destroying 2020 and there is nothing she can do to stop their collective train wreck.

    Re: The “Squad”

Trump's history of racist attitudes is well documented, as for these comments, they aren't nearly as bad as some of the other things he's said before he was president. Laziness is a trait in blacks, they can't help it, etc. On the other hand, I don't think I have ever heard of a white person in the US being told to go back to their country. Especially since three of the four were born here, it doesn't really make any sense. To me it was more stupid than anything else but I could see how people felt it was racist. For example, I don't think Trump likes Nancy Pelosi very much but as far as I know he never told her to go back to wherever her ancestors came from. I guess when a person has a history of questionable attitudes towards other races it makes people more likely to believe that some of the things they say are racist.

    Racist? Probably not.

    Warranted? Definitely not.

I assume that the affect he was going for was something along the lines of “if you hate the US so much, go somewhere else and then see if the US is as terrible as you believe...”

However, that’s not how it came across at all.

All he did was give the left ammunition.

    It's more xenophobic than anything.

Assimilate or leave has never been the American way. We are the "Great Melting Pot" for a reason.

But New! makes a good point, I don't see him telling Paul Ryan to go back to Ireland or Pelosi to go back to Italy. It seems he only wants the "non-whites" to go back to where they come from, made even more laughable that 3/4 of them are from America, lol.

Totally disagree. It is totally warranted and immigrants should assimilate. It is morally reprehensible for Omar to bash this country, the country that saved her from the hell hole her family came from. You are going to talk shit about the us when you come from Somalia? Trump was right, if we are so awful as a nation fix the one you came from and show us how it is done. It

2 things, this line of thinking drives me CRAZY. Because he has said something to people of color but hasn't said it to "white people" I'm going to take that as he only means towards people of color. That's in over generalization - he said it to 4 people who wouldn't condemn an ANTIFA bombing on a US facility and talk about how terrible this country was and is and how we should be more like "X".

He's said tons of shit about Ryan or Romney or McCain or whoever as it relates to the shit they're talking about. I have no doubt if they said something along the lines of something these 4 have, he would have said the same

If you really want to know why he's doing this, look past the tweets. Do we REALLY think he didn't plan this out and he just stupidly sent out tweets that people would say as racist?

Look at the poll numbers of these 4 women.

‘NOT A TYPO’: Democrat Poll Shows What Voters Think Of Omar, Ocasio-Cortez

"Ocasio-Cortez was recognized by 74% of voters in the poll; 22% had a favorable view," Axios reported. "Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota — another member of The Squad — was recognized by 53% of the voters; 9% (not a typo) had a favorable view."

"Socialism was viewed favorably by 18% of the voters and unfavorably by 69%," Axios added, whereas "capitalism was 56% favorable; 32% unfavorable."

The firm that conducted the poll gave the results to Axios on the condition that it not be named because it works "with all parts of the party."

A top Democrat involved in the 2020 congressional races told Axios: "If all voters hear about is AOC, it could put the [House] majority at risk. [S]he's getting all the news and defining everyone else’s races. Socialism is toxic to these voters."
Trump is getting them TONS of airtime, making the media and top democrats defend them, making THEM the face of the party. And just like in the campaign... they're taking it hook, line and sinker.

What would be the "rules" for assimilating into American life?

We've ALL been critical of the way this country was run at one point or another. Most down here in the LID were critical of Obama's America, but no one had a problem with that. She is critical of Trump's America, and should go back to where she came from.

I just don't get the difference.

    Re: The “Squad”

Trump never brought up skin color, gender, or “people of color” which means there was absolutely nothing racist about anything he said. Nothing nativist. Nothing xenophobic whatsoever. His tweets focused on only one thing...their behavior. The insane and idiotic behavior of these communist/socialists and their indefensible bigotry. Their open hatred of Jewish people. Their incessant comparisons of the American military to Al Qaeda and our border enforcement agencies to Nazi concentration camps. Their un-American crusade to give illegal immigrants priority over American tax paying citizens and legal immigrants who came into this country the right way.

Nobody has stood up to these assholes and all their vitriol for fear of being called racist. Trump did. He defended Americans and America...which is exactly what a President should do.

    Regarding assimilation...

And so some of the assimilation that inevitably takes place is gonna take a little bit longer, but some of those principles still apply, and I worry sometimes as we think about how to deal with the immigration issue we think that any moves towards assimilation of newcomers to the existing culture is somehow betrayal or a denial of people’s heritage or what have you. The truth of the matter is that if you’re going to have a coherent, cohesive society then everybody has to have some agreed upon rules, and there’s gonna have to be some accommodations that everybody makes, and that includes the people who are newcomers. The question is, are those fair? Should we want to encourage newcomers to learn the language of the country they’re moving to? Of course. Does that mean they can never use their own language. No. Of course it doesn’t mean that, but it’s not racist to say if you’re gonna be here then you should learn the language of the country you just arrived at, because we need to have some sort of common language in which all of us can work and learn and understand each other. - Barack H. Obama.
    He's right.
