They'll use him as a 3rd down pass rush specialist in the JOKER role that we did not fill (McPhee's role).
if nothing else he'll help push the younger guys in camp.

We needed depth even if all the young guys step up. Also as GWNR said the roles they’ll play are probably not like for like.

I see him in Za Smith's role.

We had 3 primary guys that would be listed as EDGE last year. Suggs, Judon and Za. 2 EDGE spots become 3 because we used Za as a JOKER.

    I think we'll see:
    RUSH - Williams/Ferguson
    DT - Henry/Wormley/Pierce
    JOKER - McPhee
    DE - Judon/Bowser

In that particular alignment. If they add a NT to have a 5 man look it'd be Pierce at the NT.

I personally don't think it means the FO doesn't have confidence in the OLB's. While we have a gap at RUSH, we still have some promise in Ferg and T-Will. McPhee will likely not play a full time role. As a situational JOKER that may play some EDGE, we could very well get 16 games out of him.

I hope this is at vet minimum and he's easily cuttable. McPhee doesn't look like he's got anything left in the tank.

I like it. Still counting on Bowser and Williams to step it up, but nothing wrong with some depth.

Right. They replace Zadarius Smith with the guy that Zadarius Smith replaced earlier.

    Welcome back Pernell!!

edit - meh, not that good a cut-up. So here's Brett Kollmann!

Welcome back McPhee!!! I think it is special to see a Raven return after a rocky road away from B-more. Think of all the other FAs that left the Ravens to flop and never return. DeCosta must see something in him to help the team. I just hope the medicals check out.

If McPhee is good enough to make the Ravens we got a serious problem

Horn's signing was a low dollar UDFA sentimental camp signing. I doubt if it was more that 10,000.00 McPhee will have his work cut out for him to stick, and injuries are the biggest reason.

Prior to last year he’d put up at least 4 sacks four years running.
