WNCR, I do like Cesar Ruiz, but my idea is if DeCosta really wants him is to either (a) trade down into the upper 2nd round or (b) just let him go. Unless some team wants very little for the Ravens to trade up in the 2nd, IMO he is not worth the trouble. This 2020 draft does not seem to me to be a strong corps of IOLs... Bc

By my experience, when it is said that a draft is not strong for a particular position group, it means there aren't many 1st round picks there. For 2020, there are plenty of options in the Rd 3/4 range and that is where I believe the Ravens are going to get another guy or two. Like they did with Ben Powers.

You are probably right regarding top flight iOL. Ruiz is the high ceiling guy IMO and I would take Ruiz at #28, as do Mel Kiper and a CBS mock. But this is a pretty good draft for Centers with Cushenberry, Hennessy, Harris and maybe someone else with promising quality going in rounds 2-4.

    Just have to trust EDC.

And we've had a ton of success drafting OL in Rounds 3 - 6. Just off the top of my head - Zeus, Yanda, Powers, Jensen, Wagner, Bozman.

GKB, I agree. That's why I not only wouldn't trade up for Cesar Ruiz, but I would not take him @ #28 either. Repeating, if EDC trades back and drafts him in the 2nd (where we'd have 3 picks), I'd be OK with that... Bc

Gotta say...this may be the sexiest pic of Taylor ever. I generally don’t find her attractive ...but this shot gets it done! Lmao.

Carry on. I’ll creep back into my corner.

Round 6 in particular is nuts. I don't think anybody else comes close. I just listed 14 out of 36 picks and we don't know what we have with Trace McSorley and Deshon Elliott yet.

Ruiz at 28 is fine for me.

    He's that good.

I edited your list to highlight the offensive linemen, and add names to show their entire history of drafting linemen.

I've noted the position each played in college.

Note that out of the 31 linemen they've ever drafted only 6 were pure guards coming out of college. And the track record there isn't stellar. Ben Grubbs was good, but not great, with two pro bowls in an 8.5 year career, 5 in Baltimore. We'll see if Ben Powers can play.

I say this to draw attention to the seven players who were college tackles, converted to guard. They've had a bit more success doing this, and the versatility is valuable.

Note too how often they shop in rounds 3-5.

I can only think of one undrafted player who ever made an impact, Mike Flynn, who was a college tackle at Maine, converted to guard during their first super bowl run. (he came out in '97 but was actually cut, bounced around, and came back to the Ravens later in that year)
