  1. 2020 Comp Pick compensation

Just saw this online. Can't be mad at a 3rd and 4th.

So signing Thomas took away our 3rd for Mosley?

They weren’t anywhere close to being the same in money.

And John Brown is down at the end of the 4th. Could very easily drop to a 5th by the time everyone signs.

Earl thomas is considerably less than both mosley and smith. Does this tweet meant if thomas actually is only worth a 4th, he wont cancel mosley or smith because they are thirds?

Question Re: 2020 Comp Pick compensation

IIRC there are only 32 comp picks awarded annually. If so, what are the amounts of 3rd, 4th, etc. per round? Thanks... Bc

No. It means it means it goes to the next highest pick which could be a 7th for a lot of teams.

Both Thomas and Ingram are qualifying free agents gained because neither were cut and they were signed before the end of May. The assumption is that Thomas would be a 3rd round comp pick for the Seahawks so he cancels out the assumed 3rd round comp pick from Mosley. If we didn't have a 3rd it would go to the next highest which according to the chart is a 4th.

So far Ingram is too low for the list. It should stay that way

Ingram cancels out Suggs, which would be a 5th.

He says and i quote, "if there is no qualifying ufa lost in the same round then it cancels the next ufa in a lower round"

So say thomas is worth a 4th
Say smith and mosley are both 3rds

Thomas has no raven 4th to cancel with. So it then cancels in a lower round ie john brown say in the 5th? Or does lower mean round 3 as opposed to round 5?

Suggs' contract came in at $10M over 2 years with $7M guaranteed, but the second year automatically voids. Apparently this was so Arizona could keep his cap hit at $5M this season.
Ultimately I don't think it matters because he's cancelled out by Ingram anyway. Only now the APY for both of them is $5M instead of $7M for Suggs and $5M for Ingram.

Free agents that could still factor into the formula:

    QB Rob Griffin
    TE Maxx Williams
    DE Brent Urban
    RB Javorius Allen

Of those, only Urban I think may contribute financially to the formula, but you never know.

If you add all four up, it may return a 7th round comp pick... Bc
