He's a good player when put in the right position. He played well a number of games under Wink. I just can't understand what Pees was trying to do with him playing back.
Personally, like I said, cut Weddle and cut/trade Jimmy Smith and between those two and Flacco you've got $30 mil in cap space to get someone like Mathieu plus a pass rusher (or resign Mosley)

If the opportunity presents itself the smart thing to do is get the Honey Badger and cut Weddle IMO. Cutting Weddle saves money that we could reinvest into Mathieu. It hurts my heart, but I'd do it.

As a replacement you can definitely make Mathieu work. It’s as an addition that the money doesn’t make sense.

Cut Weddle move Jimmy Smith to FS and draft someone. Too much competition and too many teams with more cap space for them to have a realistic shot at signing an Earl Thomas caliber of player.
