Josh McCown retiring
Seems like a solid, level-headed guy. I hope he goes into coaching

Re: 2019 Off-Season "Around The League" Thread
I have Also found it easier to teach things that I had To work hard at to be good at. It is hard to teach something unnatural to someone else when it came so easy to yourself.
The backup QB also in many cases becomes a conduit between OC and QB and sees everything from a different angle during the game planning stage.
Even the literal meaning of viewing angle comes into play, for example, catchers view baseball from a. Different place which lends itself to coaching.

The fact that he stuck around as long as he did in this league is impressive and probably a good indicator that he had a strong work ethic and an all around good dude. Nobody keeps a 30 something QB on the roster if he's lazy or a jerk.

He was pretty solid and never complained. Even taking a beating in Believeland where he was better than his record IMO

Re: 2019 Off-Season "Around The League" Thread
The greatest players are not only so naturally gifted, but often the hardest workers and most self-motivated. Even if their motivation comes from outside sources, they have the innate ability to find those sources and feed upon them at will. Outside of that realm, the reality is that no one has a team full of players with that work ethic. I myself have always been a very self-motivated person. I'm the type that will get up and go walk to the gym three in the morning when it's 10 degrees outside. This is one reason why I didn't do well as a Personal Trainer, because I struggled with the desire to try and help others find their motivation. I just didn't want to. I wanted to deal with people as self-motivated as I was, but in the PT world those jobs are hard to come by. So, imagine a player like Tom Brady trying to coach a player and try to help him find his motivation. He'd go nuts and give up on him.
