Absolutely the biggest misconception going, and Brady and the Kraft family loves you for maintaining it. Brady is paid as the best qb in the league. The way they do it is give him free rent at Patriot place to run his clinic and have the players go there for treatment. He makes a lot more doing that the Kraft's skirt the salary cap and not to have to pay him money outside what they normally do for player medical stuff. When you think about the Patriots and Kraft family it is all about the money. And the real money is very important to them and their cap management is all about the family making and keeping money.

And yes, he has traditionally signed below market deals with a lot of creative maneuvering. But people act like the guy is some saint because his numbers always appear low when compared to other contracts at the time. The truth is, he's made north of $210,000,000 over his career. And the Pats use every contract structuring trick at their disposal year in and year out. Brady can be given some credit for never demanding to be highest paid even when he had leverage...i'd like to see what kind of "relationship" he has with the Pats once he's done playing though, I've always suspected some wink/nod ownership things might be in play.
