    Re: The coaching role changes.

The years that Roman was in Buffalo they had the number 1 run offense and that was with Tyrod and McCoy. Imagine what he does for Lamar and our RB Corp. We went from the 20s to number 2 and ended up 4th this year in running. Losing Roman would have been huge.

Other teams fans disliked him because of his heavy run philosophy but this what Baltimore is. This offensive staff has good teachers on it. (Wish they would put Urban at WR Coach. He's supposed to be an excellent developer of WRs).

    This is an upgrade.

Also, Engram’s probably a class move due to the family situation there. no need to kick someone when they’re down. Any other position coach who failed to produce players at their position as much as he did may have been let go under any other situation. Im glad we kept him, its a class move

There’s nothing wrong with being run heavy. Look at the rams game last night. The key is being able to keep the defense off balance. You need to make it so the defense doesn’t know what’s coming. So more early down passing, play action, pre snap motion, etc.

    Martindale > Pees

Roman > Marty? We shall see.

We still need better OL and better WRs, regardless.

I'll be thrilled if there is a noticeable change to the play-calling next year, but I'll have my doubts firmly entrenced as long as Harbs is the top dog.

Just remember, he turned Air Marty into Mr. Ground and Pound, then replaced him with a guy who loves to run the ball. I have no love for Marty and am glad he's not coming back, but I'm not foolish enough to believe that this change means we're about to become some wide-open offense.

    (1) Yes, Wink out-did my expectations.

    (2) Marty failed in many Ravens fans' minds, so can Roman be worse?

I doubt it and am glad for the change... Bc

I just hope we don't overcompensate on the run. Instead of hiring guys too rooted in one side of offense, why not look for a guy who's good at both?

Roman is a good OC. A Championship caliber OC.

He may not be the best QB to develop a QB into a high level passer.

But, without a doubt he can develop an offense that is highly efficient and can build around Lamar's run threat in a way that allows the team to win games.
