Re: PRESTON: Harbaugh doesnt get along with Decosta
"Getting along
It has been reported by the national media several times that Ravens coach John Harbaugh and new general manager Eric DeCosta don’t get along, but that’s not true, according to sources at The Castle.
They say the two have had disagreements but nothing more than the usual pros and cons about players and other on-the-field issues.
It’s a good, sound professional relationship, they say."
Quoted from Preston's most recent article.

Preston writes baseless sensational garbage in an attempt to sell copies of that failing rag

Ha Ha.
Preston walking away from his bullshit story, undoubtedly after a pointed phone call from Kevin Byrne.
He still can't do it without bullshitting us a little more...

Re: PRESTON: Harbaugh doesnt get along with Decosta
If EDC disliked Harbaugh and his influence so much, why would he stay in Baltimore?
It just doesn't make sense to me. I don't think there's any damage to control here."Cause if you ain’t pissed off for greatness, that just means you’re okay with being mediocre, and ain’t no man in here okay with just basic.”

Re: PRESTON: Harbaugh doesnt get along with Decosta
It's all such bullshit.
Vinny Cerrato is on air again repeating the narrative that an extension for Harbs is dragging out because he is demanding more power over a GM he doesn't like.
Jesus, the season has been over for less than a month. Dragging out? Hardly.
You don't think the negotiation has been complicated but the Jon Gruden's turd in the punchbowl? 10 years and $100MM throws the entire market out of whack.
The most recents signings of Matt Lafleur, Kliff Kingsbury and Bruce Arians have all been four-year deals with a fifth-year option (matching the terms of first-round draft picks).
Interestingly, these newest contracts all have language in them about how much the coach will or won't be paid in the event of a work stoppage in 2021--hinting that the league is anticipating lost games in 2021.

Re: PRESTON: Harbaugh doesnt get along with Decosta
I wouldn't say that's an anticipation of lost games, that's recognizing the possibility of lost revenue and keeping potential sunk costs under control in advance. It's seeing that the possibility exists, and therefore must be accounted for. That's just good contract writing.
Gruden's contract probably complicated things. If a retired Super Bowl winning coach can command a $10 million/year salary, what about a coach who has remained active, and took a team with a losing record at the mid-point and won their division?
There is also zero reason to rush Harbaugh's contract negotiation. He's still under contract for 2019, it doesn't count towards any salary cap numbers, and free agency is still 2 months away. They'll get it resolved with plenty of time to spare.

Re: PRESTON: Harbaugh doesnt get along with Decosta
This ^ A thoroughly logical response that just so happens to be true. The narrative that all these accomplished men in their fields allow themselves to be used as puppets and are just toe the line lackeys is absurd. Fact it, those in the know have a much higher opinion of John Harbaugh than Joe Six Pack from Arbutus or Asshat Vinny Cerrato or Preston.
The only fans that still buy into this BS are no different than Preston. They make out like it has merit because they wish it did because they don't like Harbaugh. It always was and still is a total bullshit story by Preston. Sorry to inform the Harbaugh haters, but JH is going to be here a while and he's going to make a boatload of cash while doing it. After seeing the most recent batch of HC hires, I'm still amazed at the anti Harbaugh crowd. I'd take Rich Kotite over some of those clowns.
