Re: New OC
He's going to take that job. It makes the most sense for him. He won't be back this year or next...as soon as Billick gets canned....might as well lead his alma mater.

Re: New OC
Sounds like Billick is really pulling for him to get the job. Could it be that he won't be here next year whether he gets the job or not?
I know I won't miss him. I can't think of even the slightest impact that he has had.

In a 2003 BBC poll that asked Brits to name the "Greatest American Ever", Mr. T came in fourth, behind ML King (3rd), Abe Lincoln (2nd) and Homer Simpson (1st).

Re: New OC
Just some thoughts of current assistant coaches we should go after...
Jim Caldwell - Current QB/Asst. Head Coach of Indy
Mike Tice - Assistant Head Coach - Offense for Jacksonville
Mike Sheppard - WR coach - Cincy
Terry Robiskie - WR coach - Miami
Al Saunders - He's basically the offensive architect in Washington, but I think he'd be a tough guy to pull away from his team.
Of course, my preference is to get a college HC to be our OC, but I don't know who there would be a good fit...

Re: New OC
personally i think Caldwell is the best option in the nfl right now with all he has done in indy, but i'm pretty sure the only way he leaves indy is to become a HC, but i can pray right?

Re: New OC
You won't get Saunders I suspect, his job title is Assistant Head Coach, Offence in Washington and he has a very healthy $2million a year wage packet, good luck relieving Danny Boy of that.
Of course he could become available if Joe decides to give it up after this season.

Re: New OC
Another guy would be Russ Grimm...he's currently the Asst. Head Coach and OL Coach for Arizona, after being a finalist for the Steelers job...

Re: New OC
I can't see Caldwell leaving the Colts to come to the Ravens unless there are huge sums of money involved. It could be career suicide. Also, i would think he is looking for a H.C. job. I can't see Rex Ryan leaving Baltimore to be the D.C. of another team....he wants a H.C. job.

Re: New OC
well, that's why I'm looking at Assistant Coaches...Caldwell isn't really well known as the front runner for HC jobs, most HC frontrunners are currently OC or DC...Plus, on the downside, I think Peyton makes him look good, not necessarily the other way around.
