I think that falls under BPR's "augment the QB".

One thing I get hung up on, it's almost impossible to overstate how much different this roster is, with just two recent picks changed:
    • Last year, Juju over Bowser
    • This year, Calvin Ridley over H Hurst
We'd be a whole different team. Just 2 players!
Id much rather have JuJu and Derwin James. JuJu has shown his floor is a complete #2, and on most teams a low #1. Ridley still benefits from having elite talent with no pressure imo. I dont think his game translates across multiple teams as a primary WR.

James is going to be an all pro Safety
    Burn it down

Lamar makes the team BETTER. He elevates a weak offensive line and running game. He helps the defense because of TOP. Only people crying about Lamar is Snead and Crabtree. And they are so replaceable.

    Oh, you can run run!

And we 100% should have both. Hardly a fan on this board or anywhere that wasn’t hoping those were the picks when they came up. Oh well. Hopefully Decosta learns from those blunders.

A dynamic one cut RB is going to help Lamar. Put it behind an athletic interior line and I wish even Luke Kuchely the best of luck in finding Lamar or the RB behind the LOS.

Just can’t do that with the interior guys we have (obviously not including yanda)

Don't forget Allen Robinson or Jarvis Landry in 2014 (as Torrey Smith was coming due), and Michael Thomas in 2016 (when SSR was likely retiring, or going to die on the field; and you really didn't know what the hell you had in one, Breshad Perriman).

Yes Hbg, if we had Juju and James we'd have added two potent, game-changing players on both sides of the football. Especially considering the "impact" Bowser and Hurst have made.
Unfortunately our aim seems to have been : obtain more watered-down draft choices... Bc

Bears drafted White.... but decided they wouldnt quit on WR and signed Robinson and Drafted Miller. Bears GM should be GM of the year

Because we won't beat the Chargers or Chiefs playing the way we won Sunday. I'm pro-Lamar, but unless they can open up the offense, and do so successfully, in the next 2-3 weeks, Flacco should be under center as soon as possible.

I think Lamar is progressing well, but could use more seasoning. We're going to need John Brown, Crabtree, and vertical-Chris-Moore to be factors in order to beat the Chiefs. Open it up with Lamar, or sit him and start Flacco or RG3. Unless the playoffs don't matter which, maybe they dont.
What you say does make sense however do you think we have a chance with zero running game, the defense pinning their ears back, and hot and cold Joe throwing 50 times? We'll probably get smoked either way, I'd take my chances with Lamar. Of course, remains to be seen how he plays this week for sure. Like I said, what you say is sensible but I'd be very afraid to see Joe have to play catch up with anybody for an extended period of time. History shows us he is too inconsistent as a passer to sustain/produce a 30/40 point game.
