January Joe
This needs its own thread. PERIOD!
"January Joe" is Symbiote Joe.
It's a Joe that Dana does not even recognize.
The "Baltimore Sun" has reported sightings of "January Joe" as early as mid-December.
How does the mysterious enigma known as "January Joe" hold up with what many are calling the best defense in the league when the weather gets nippy against playoff teams?
If Joe was meant to win a 2nd superbowl ring in Baltimore, it may have to be this season.

Re: January Joe
Playoff Joe has a career qb rating of 88.6. Non-playoff Joe has a career qb rating of 84.6. It is always been a myth he is not el duque (yankees). I get it Joe had a magical run in 2012 we are all grateful for it but so did Dilfer we didn't make him our qb for life. The Eagles didn't all of sudden trade away Wentz and throw their lot into Foles. Minnesota had a great run with Keenum they didn't say shit lets give this guy 120 million. The Jaguars benched janurary Bortles.
What other team anywhere keeps a qb based on what he did for you 6 years ago when he's played like straight ass since? The ravens that's who.
And the only reason why he was kept was because our FO are cowards. Too afraid of the unknown and unwilling to take the chances necessary to find ourselves a real franchise qb.

Re: January Joe
Flacco made a nice last drive that should have tied the game, but his mediocre play for the first 58 minutes is what made the game close.
Hopefully after the bye the coaching staff will start giving Lamar more time, possibly full time QB. I just don't want to see another great defense wasted by Flacco again. It's been too many times.
He has good weapons and great protection, and yet with two minutes to go the Ravens had only scored 17 against one of the worst defenses in the league, at home.
Play Lamar, let him grow and develop. He's now used to the speed of the game. No way Flacco is bringing this team another championship, he has too many holes in his game.

Re: January Joe
And the rumor I've read is that in 2009 (10 attempt win against Pats, blown out by the Colts) he could barely walk due to bruised leg/hip. Whatever the case, there's a point where Flacco became January Joe. After the Colts game in the '09 playoffs, he's played well enough to win 9 of the 10 games he's played (the exception being the loss to the Steelers in '10 playoffs).

Re: January Joe
Can't stat watch with Joe. He's a winner. He puts you in a position to win more often than not. You can't quantify that under QBR.
