It would never happen because it would never even be something to vote on. Something has to be on the ballot before it can be voted on.

That's one of the reasons why when you are voting on something you'll see things like "Proposition 77.A". What the fuck is that? Unless you've been following local politics or something, odds are a majority of voters have no idea what that proposition is.

The current voting system is really lame anyway.

People should be able to vote from their mobile devices or computer. Everyone has one and in today's society, most people pay more attention to their mobile devices than actual things going on around them. This way voters could also quickly educate themselves on what they're voting for. Kind of like that "i side with" website where you answer a shit ton of questions and it tells you what candidate you align with the most. Obviously that's a bit in the weeds, but how simple would it be to just have a quick blurb option about Proposition 77.A right there so you can read an overview of what it is about and at least make an educated vote.

It won't be on a ballot because it would require an Amendment to the Constitution.

Well, if Ford is going to show up to testify, she better be prepared to get her version of her story straightened out.

How many people were at the party? Her letter says 5. Her interview with the Washington comPost said 5 (her and 4 boys). Her lawyer says there was another girl there. All 3 of those things can't be true.

2 of the witnesses she names deny everything Ford is saying and all of the people in this alleged story were children (legally).

Dennis Prager made a great point about all of this. No matter how good and moral a life one has led for 10, 20, 30, 40 or even 50 years, it is all nullified by any unverifiable accused act as a child. No decent or rational society has ever believed such nihilistic nonsense.

IMO, it's absolutely absurd that this is even given an ounce of credibility. It's a political ploy...and a bad one at that.

Meanwhile, Keith Ellison's accuser (with medical records to prove it) is being ignored.

    The Democrats are disgusting scumbags.

I was more talking about the public making an effort to not allow someone to have more that 2 terms as a senator or 6 terms as a Rep.

Like they would vote the person out. Not voting for term limits.

    Either way, not gonna happen.

The Ellison shit just shows how low these assholes will stoop for power.

They are using sexual assault as a political football when it's convenient for them.

Ellison's situation isn't convenient, so it's ignored. A DNC donor's vague recollection of a sexual assualt 35 years ago with multiple witnesses denying her claim is a more convenient football to play with so...that's what they are using.

They are lower than pond scum.

I'm not so sure that it's a bad political ploy. Their sole aim is to get the confirmation vote delayed long enough to have more Democrats voting (providing they do well in the midterms).

If she doesn’t testify it ain’t happening. His confirmation will move forward. Even spineless Republicans are saying do

My bet is that she'll testify. Even if she doesn't, she may have put just enough doubt in some Republican Senator's head.

My bet is she doesn’t. She said she wants an FBI investigation first. Coincidentally that’s what the Dems are calling for too. But the FBI has already said no. So both will keep pushing for that in an effort to delay, the vote will move forward and the Dems will scream the whole time in an effort to peel off a few votes.

Unless there is something that corroborates her story he’s going to be a SCOTUS judge. Then the Dems will use this as material in the upcoming elections as evidence of Republicans hating women.
