The NFL should just create a new penalty for "Distasteful Celebration" and get rid of the Unsportsmanlike Conduct one.

I will say that advertisers/sponsors don't care. They are all about projected growth from the current year.

Alex Smith suffered a compound fracture - meaning the bone broke through his skin, per source. Trauma surgeons discovered Smith suffered a spiral fracture in his leg - defined as a long bone broken by a rotational force. Smith, 34, faces a lengthy rehab process to try to return.

I'm gonna call career ender on this one. That's a rest-of-life kind of injury. I feel bad for Smith -- but couldn't happen to a better franchise.

As good as Matt Nagy has been for the Bears, Matt Patricia has been that bad for the Lions. But it's all about the scapegoat, so Jim Bob Cooter, etc should think about their next gig.
