Re: The Cluster F that is the media
Sure.
It’s a free society. People can believe anything they want. Right or wrong. Parents who are anti-vaccine are allowed to not get their kids vaccinated and then claim that not getting vaccinated didn’t effect their one kid who lived. In a free society, you can think however you want despite reality contradicting your opinion.
Just have the wherewithal to listen to someone who you don’t agree with and don’t steal their MAGA hat in class...then assault the teacher...then claim that MAGA hats are hateful while completely oblivious to their own hateful actions. This just happened, btw.
Lunacy has run amuck and the MSM keeps promoting the hate. IMO, it’s all intentional and sheeple follow the herd.

Re: The Cluster F that is the media
Yea, I'm sure there are a lot of ignorant people who do ignorant things to people who think differently. I don't think this equates to pointing out to someone that what they are suggesting is socialism ... if that was the point of the MAGA hat example.
As for the MSM, I guess my point is that the media generally is sensationalist and typically biased as well. It's what most people want to consume. I agree that it applies to the MSM, but, maybe unlike some here, I also think it applies to Fox News, Limbaugh, etc ...
Some of these outlets can still give insightful info, but it's important to be aware of their bias and know that you might not be getting the whole story (or might be completely missing other stories that would be important to you).
Personally, I like to read my news rather than watch or listen to it (not saying that that is in any way better). I like (roughly in order of they're left/right slant): The Atlantic, The Week, The Economist, Foreign Policy, Fiscal Times, National Review ...
If I read about a topic from a right leaning site, I like to also read an article that looks at it from the left. The reverse obviously applies. But I also try to question if either "side" are really giving me the underlying data/facts to support their conclusions so that I can examine them for myself. And I also try to consider that any given issue typically has a lot more than 2 positions.

Re: The Cluster F that is the media
Yea, I think that's a fair criticism. Although Fox does love to refer to itself as fair and balanced. I don't know that they are any more balanced than some of the other sources you listed here. But a discerning reader/listener/watcher will know what they are watching anyway.
