So over time you kind of forget those and associate that era with the ones who lasted. You think the 60's/70's were great because you had the Beatles, Stones, Eagles but forget that the Monkees and Partridge Family were also very popular and very successful during that period. The 90's brought us Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden but also The Spice Girls and Chumba Wamba.

I'm sure looking back at the 2000's and 2010's in another 20 years we'll be remembering some great music that stood the test of time and forget all about F.U.N. (who is like nails on a chalkboard for me).
ugh not a fan of F.U.N. either

I didn't feel like starting a new thread on this, so since this one had evolved into a favorite music thread, I figured it would fit.

So I watched SNL this weekend. The musical guest was DJ Khaled. He came out twice as is the norm. From what I can tell, all he really did was strut around the stage, say his name repeatedly, implore the audience to get their hands in the air, and bring out a ton of other rappers and singers to perform. His only contributions to those songs were "Yeah! Yeah!" or emphasizing some word they had just sung/rapped. How the hell is this guy a musical guest? And he makes a career out of doing this?

I'm not knocking rap or hip hop. Just him.

I was going to bump the old music thread because I finally saw SLAYER last week, but it's buried so far down this forum I gave up looking for it. Great show, Lamb of God and Amon Amarth were awesome as well. Cannibal Corpse also played but that style of death metal just isn't my thing.

From what I Googled about him, he's more of a producer and dj, which makes him an odd musical guest choice to start with.
