Re: Favorite songs from the 1990s

So much great music from the 90's. Not sure which was better for me, the 90's or the 80's. Probably the 90's. Here's a hastily put together top 25 (only allowing myself to pick one song per band):

    1. Wish - Nine Inch Nails
    2. S.Y.L. - Strapping Young Lad
    3. Forty Six & 2 - Tool
    4. A Daisy Chain 4 Satan - My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult
    5. Spinal Meningitis (Got Me Down) - Ween
    6. Bar-X The Rocking M - Melvins
    7. Carry Stress In The Jaw - Mr. Bungle
    8. The Sky Moves Sideways - Porcupine Tree
    9. Range Life - Pavement
    10. Repeater - Fugazi
    11. Who Was In My Room Last Night? - Butthole Surfers
    12. Bite the Pain - Death
    13. When - Opeth
    14. Tourette's - Nirvana
    15. An Incarnation's Dream - Atheist
    16. Pay No Mind (Snoozer) - Beck
    17. Land of Sunshine - Faith No More
    18. Only Shallow - My Bloody Valentine
    19. Dine Alone - Quicksand
    20. She Don't Use Jelly - The Flaming Lips
    21. To Defy The Laws of Tradition - Primus
    22. Unsuccessfully Coping With The Natural Beauty Of Infidelity - Type O Negative
    23. Veil of Maya - Cynic
    24. Seagull - Ride
    25. Ghost - Neutral Milk Hotel

Digging deep with the mad caddies. Never see anyone referencing them.

But to take a stab at a few...

40 Oz to Freedom - Sublime still one of my favorite albums
Rancid - love just about all of it
Use Your Illusion I & II - Guns N Roses - a lot of Axl overproduction, and some filler crap but some great songs too
Following GNR, Izzy Stradlin put out some solo albums that are great, very classic rock feel
    Beck
Motley Crue was still rocking with Dr. Feelgood (technically 1989) - still love Kickstart My Heart
    Laid - James
    Praise You - Fatboy Slim
    Rusty Cage - Sound Garden
Rancid is really hit or miss for me. Some of their stuff is awesome, but the singing gets to me in others. They do have a phenomenal bass player.

I can get that. There's usually a song or two I don't care for on each album. Matt Freeman is the bass player and they really shouldn't let him sing ever. Tim seems to change his vocal style from one album to the next. Right now he's got a kinda growling thing going on which I'm not crazy about.

Yeah like those both, as well as indestructible and let"s go. Let the dominos fall was really good. Haven't listened to troublemaker or honor is all we know as much.

It’s cool as shit to see so many people like Ska music here. Back when I was in school it seemed like I was the only dude buying Ska-Punk cds at SoundGarden.

Sad indeed. I thought maybe the BossTones or No Doubt would make it mainstream...nope.
