Re: Travel Thread
My absolute favorite place I've ever been is Alaska. If you ever get a chance, go.

San Diego is just a cool city with lots of neat sections. You can just go to one section and spend a day wandering around, grab a bite to eat and just relax. when we lived in Vegas my company had an insane rate at the Delmar Hilton, so we'd go down frequently. You probably know about all the spots - La Jolla, Coronado, Mission Bay. We loved Jake's of Delmar for dinner - right on the beach, great food, great drinks. Birch Aquarium at Scripps is pretty neat. It sits up on the hillside overlooking the ocean and has scopes you can look out and view whales in the right season.
If you have kids Lego Land in Carlsbad is really fun. We went when our kids were around 3 and 1. Then we took them to the one in FL when they were probably 10 and 8. They didn't even remember going the first time. But the second time I thought the oldest was going to explode he was so wired up. He is a HUGE Lego fan. It's pretty good for adults too.

Re: Travel Thread
No doubt. I know Ashville has a ton of breweries in a close proximity.
Side note: I used to go down to Greensboro fairly frequently for work. The first time I went down, I checked into the hotel and asked at the front desk if they had good dinner recommendations. She pointed me down the road a couple miles where there would be an Olive Garden, Applebees, bunch of those chain restaurants. So I start driving and literally within 1/4 mile pass by a barbecue joint. I'm like wtf? So I plan on turning around, then come across another one and pull in. It was great. I refused to stay at that hotel again after that.
